Last day in China

One of Zane's greatest concerns has been that the kids left in the orphanage "are crying because they miss me." He has asked us several times about ShanShan and Zhia Zhia, two of the girls "left behind" who have been placed in families but are waiting to be picked up. The pic to the left was taken the day we left the orphanage, and ZhiaZhia is in the pink.
Two days ago, we were on a group tour in Guangzhou with other adoptive families. As we shared stories, we put together that one family with our group, is best friends with ZhiaZhia's mommy-to-be in North Carolina. Photo above is of Melinda with her new daughter, and Shannon and Zane. Zane was so comforted to know a friend of ZhiaZhia's new family, and that they believe in God, too.
We leave for Hong Kong tomorrow. One prayer request is that we can make our flight in time. We take our formal "oath" at the US Consulate tomorrow at 4, and our flight is at 6:25. It'll be a tight squeeze. Thanks for praying with us.

The Hilliard Family,
Unbelievable! Zane continues to amaze us with His focus on others... what a witness to God's presence in His life.... God continues to teach us so much through this experience! May God bless your final day by orchestrating all the details, the appointment, the flight, and the travel home to Abby and Huddy. We are looking forward to your family being all together! May tomorrow be another day of blessing for all of you!

Hi Shannon,
It's Bobby. I just finished putting little Matt to bed. The last few days he has been talking a lot about when we picked him up in China, and has been praying for Zane and his new Mommy numerous times a day. He has been praying that Zane "not be scared and that he has Jesus in his heart". Matt also has been praying for Gracie and Rebecca. I think that Mindy picks up Gracie the 26th. Matt, like Zane is so concerned about the kids left behind. He is in the stage where he notices the things he has that the kids in the foster home don't have, and he wants to send the items to them. We have a world map in his room with small post-it-note arrows pointing to all of his friends. We very ceremoniously moved Zane's tag from Beijing to Hong Kong, and now Matt want's to make sure you are going to take Zane to a doctor, so he will be well. Matt is impressed that he has a regular doctor, a pee-pee doctor, and eye doctor and a tooth doctor. He's checking up on you making sure you're taking care of Zane... I told him you have an appt for the day you return, and it is now on OUR calendar :) I am just overwhelmed at the love and depth of these 4 and 5 year olds for one another.
Matt had surgery this past Thursday, which is part of his thinking about Zane's health. We had both hernias fixed (in his testicles) and both testicles descended. This is his second operation with us, and should be his last. We will continue to pray for Zane's health and well being, as well as for his doctors.
I'm not sure if I told you, but the company I worked for just closed it's doors, so I'm out of work and looking earnestly. Please keep us in your prayers as well. I know God will lead me to where I belong, I just want to make sure I don't miss His voice in the craziness...
Love to you all and hope your reunited family is greatly blessed.
All our love,
Bobby, Matthew and little Matt
